Safety Program & On‐Staff Safety Personnel
Fleming employs a full time safety staff consisting of a Safety Manager, and Safety Director to ensure the safety of employees, customers, and agents of our company. Fleming has stringent compliance requirements in relation to construction safety regulations. The Safety and Procedures Manager performs a pre‐construction assessment of evident safety hazards present on jobsites, coupled with any job specific safety information, details of the scope of work being done, ensures all Fleming procedures and safety standards are followed daily. Visits to the project ensure employee and subcontractor safety, job site security, and addresses all concerns regarding procedures and safety daily.
Safety meetings are conducted regularly per company guidelines, and our field staff is required to wear Personal Protective Equipment on all construction projects, regardless if they are required by the Client or Owner. Monthly Safety Meetings
All field staff attends a monthly mandatory meeting addressing general safety on construction sites, and once per month, specialized training on various hazards are addressed. Below is a sampling of our monthly safety meeting – it is not all inclusive, but is fluid depending on the nature of the current projects being constructed.
General Safety
- Inspect cords for damage/ insure proper use of GFCI protection is present on extension cords
- Inspect ladders before use for signs of defects/damage
- Fall protection ‐ conduct pre‐use inspection for defects in harness or lanyard
- PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)‐ checked for wear & tear, and replaced if necessary.
